This painting was a challenge start to finish. In fact, I worked on it for so long, that I'd nearly given up on it. It had a strong composition but I just couldn't get the colors to SING and if you know anything about me, you know that getting the colors to SING is a high priority! The more I worked on it, the less I liked it. I'd planned to paint over it the next day, but when I walked into the studio, I saw some changes I could make and decided to work on it for one more day. One more day.
Turns out, after 2-1/2 weeks of painting, that was the day the Lord helped me to pull it all together and the next thing I know, the details were coming into focus and the colors began to sing like a choir belting out a chorus in beautiful harmony.....and it was finally finished!
I think it's a lot like that in life. We push and pull, strive and strain trying to make what we want out of life or get what we want and sometimes the Lord is saying, "Cease all your striving and wait on me and my perfect timing. Trust me. I promise you, when the time is right, it'll be worth the wait."
It felt right to name this piece Worth the Wait. Perhaps it can be a reminder for you, as you're waiting on the Lord's perfect timing in your own life.
"Stop striving and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted on the earth. Psalm 46:10
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord." Psalm 27:14
