"What's the story, morning glory?" Remember that line from a song in the old Bye Bye, Birdie movie?  Haha!  That's where this cutie patootie morning glory painting got it's name!

After I painted it, I took it outside the next morning and snapped some pictures and videos of it with our morning glories, that are growing along our fence.  I love these resilient little flowers that seem to glow in the centers!  All the ones we have now, have come up on their own.  We haven't planted any new seeds in several years, and yet, year after year, we have loads of volunteers climbing up our fence.

I love that they don't require us to do any work (other than help train them up the fence and off of other plants growing nearby!  Ha!) and yet, they put on a spectacular show day after day.  And I love how their heart-shaped leaves help to remind me of the heart of our Father.  They remind of God's mercies....new every morning, just like these little blooms that open and fade all within a day, only to be replaced by new blooms (and fresh, new mercies) again tomorrow.

I hope this little painting will always serve as a reminder of how faithful our God is, day after day, and that regardless of our mistakes, He sees us with love and compassion and has new mercy to bless us with even when we don't deserve it.
