I recently had the privilege of painting some special artwork pieces for our church's women's ministry conference, and they also requested a piece of artwork that could be made into a print that they gave to each woman in attendance.
The theme of the event was Flourish...how to flourish regardless of our circumstances, by putting on the Armor of God daily. To represent that visually, they requested that I paint flowers all over a suit of actual steel armor. And to go along with that, I also painted this "Shield of Faith" canvas painting for them to use for their print gifts.
I purposely chose to paint some of the greenery spilling out from the side of the shield, to show that when God causes us to flourish, it doesn't always look exactly like we might have expected! And that often, flourishing in the Lord can take us well beyond our "borders" and way outside our neat and tidy little boxes!! (And thank goodness for that!)
I hope this painting and the fine art prints of it that we're offering as well, will always serve as a reminder to put on the Armor of God daily, so you can flourish! To pick up your Shield of Faith each and every day, so you can withstand the attacks of the enemy and truly flourish in your walk with the Lord!
