When I was little, we used to go visit Daisy & Josephine who were my grandparents' neighbors and whose husbands had both passed away. Daisy moved in with my grandparents for a time after she lost her husband. Eventually she moved in with Josephine, who lived just around the corner, after Josephine lost her husband, as well.
Daisy & Josephine were the sweetest little elderly women ever, and their home was just as sweet. Delicate doilies graced the side tables and my favorite part of their house, was the pony walls with pillars on top, that separated the living room from the dining room. The pony walls were made of dark wood and had built in bookshelves, complete with beveled glass doors and those cool old door pulls with the little knobs you had to turn to open. (Apparently, I've had a thing for antiques since I was 5 or 6!) :)
Daisy & Josephine had a crystal candy dish with a lid, and they loaded it up with cheese balls -- you know, the puffy, crunchy ones -- every time we came over! We ate cheese balls while Mom and Daisy & Josephine chatted and I have the fondest memories of going to their house!
This series of four sweet little floral arrangements are named after Daisy & Josephine, because they look like just the sort of floral arrangement that would have been sitting on the frilly side table, on top of a doily and right next to the cheese ball filled crystal candy dish at Daisy & Josephine's house! :) I hope they bring you joy, as much as they have to me!
These four paintings would be so lovely all hung on the wall together in a grouping and are completely darling on their own, as well!
